Raleigh’s Three Ships Media names Drew Van Pelt president

Three Ships MediaRALEIGH, NC – Three Ships Media, a social media marketing firm, has named Drew Van Pelt president. Van Pelt was formerly director of strategy at Teach for America.

Prior to Teach For America, Van Pelt executed investments at Primus Capital Funds, a growth oriented private equity firm.

The company also named Aarti Sura vice president of research. She formerly worked with McColl Partners, General Mills and New Profit.

Founded in 2009, Three Ships Media creates customized interactive media platforms to generate leads, engage customers, and build brands. It says it can immerse customers in branded content at lower cost than print ads or Google AdWords.

It raised an undisclosed amount of funding in March from Jeff Giesea, who is chair of the company.

Three Ships recently moved to larger quarters in downtown Raleigh
