Virginia’s Emantix CEO wins patent for managing contexual info

ANNANDALE, VA – Emantix, an enterprise productivity software company, says that David Ian Forbes, Emantix founder and CEO, has been awarded United States Patent #7,584,161, titled “Software System for Managing Information in Context.”

The new patent relates to a method for contextual interaction with information. A key innovation in the patent is the complete reinvention of traditional software interfaces and tool sets to deliver better user interaction and interface usability.

The system also provides novel methods for structuring and searching metadata, text and digital media.

Emantix sells a way to make every single word or combination of words, in any kind of online content clickable, so people can instantly connect to the best information, experts and media.

The company has two other patents pending.
