NCSU, Southern Capitol Ventures to showcase regional tech firms

September 19th, 2008

RALEIGH, NC – North Carolina State University, in cooperation with Southern Capitol Ventures, a North Carolina-based early-stage venture capital firm, are launching a program to showcase some of Research Triangle Park’s biggest technology success stories to students in NC State’s Entrepreneurship Program.

The program is similar to the NC State Engineering Entrepreneurs Program annual Spring Break field trip to Silicon Valley, where students have toured companies like Facebook, Apple, Google and Kleiner Perkins.

Participating companies and organizations for the event in North Carolina include Southern Capitol Ventures, ChannelAdvisor, Canvas On Demand, the Council for Entrepreneurial Development, Cisco, Cree, Digitalsmiths, Hutchison Law Group, iContact, Inspire Pharmaceuticals, ReverbNation, SciQuest and Square 1 Bank.

“We’re excited to host EEP students at ChannelAdvisor and appreciate the opportunity to show them some of the innovation and new technologies being developed in North Carolina,” said Scot Wingo, CEO of ChannelAdvisor.

The event will be held on September 23, 2008 and again on October 7, 2008 with more than 30 students participating.
