DULUTH, GA– AqueSys Inc, a company developing a device to treat glaucoma, has raised a $9 million Series B funding with return backers including AMV Partners, Carlyle Venture Partners, and SV Life Sciences.
PE Hub reported the deal citing a regulatory filing.
The company raised $6.9 million previously. Glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness and affects 65 million people.
Founded in 2006, AqueSys is an Innovation Factory portfolio company. The Innovation Factory launched Accuitive Medical Ventures to fund medical device companies in 2004.
Since it’s founding in 1999, Duluth-based Innovation Factory has launched nine companies. They are: Acufocus, Cerebral Vascular Applications, LipoSonix, Neuronetics and NeoVista, Cellutions, HlScion, and OsteoLign.
All develop medical devices aimed at major market indications.
