NC Tech Association’s president resigns after five months

June 3rd, 2008

RALEIGH, NC—Peter Hermann, president and CEO of the North Carolina Technology Association, has resigned, effective immediately, after only five months in the job.

Hermann, who replaced former CEO Joan Myers, who left to join Cary’s SAS and is now with the Defense & Security Technology Accelerator in Fayettesville, sited personal reasons for his resignation.

Although Hermann declined to issue a public statement, chairman Anne McClelland said in a statement, “On behalf of NCTA’s Executive Board of Directors, I’d like to acknowledge Peter’s efforts during his tenure. However, the organization remains strong. Other than the absence of a CEO, the office is fully staffed with dedicated and organized professionals who are committed to serving the membership.”

Hermann was hired by NCTA in January and is formerly president of Hermann Associates, Inc., a Kansas City-based consulting and facilitation firm serving the strategic planning, business and leadership development needs of associations, closely held businesses and entrepreneurs.

“Moving forward the organization will immediately proceed with a national executive search, which will be conducted by Greene Resources. We are fortunate to have an active Executive Committee of the Board of Directors, and the NCTA staff has great confidence in its executive leadership during this transition,” said McClelland.

The Board plans to explore a full range of options as it considers Hermann’s successor. During the interim, former Time Warner Cable VP of Government Affairs, past chairman Randy Fraser, will serve in a volunteer capacity to advise staff and support operations until a candidate is selected.
