DURHAM – Hundreds of attendees came out to last night’s TechJournal South RTP Deckparty despite forecasts for rain showers and two separate major 5pm wrecks on I-40. The event was presented by Merdian Corporate Center and held at their 2525 Meridian Parkway location.
Due to the forecast the event was held indoors just inside the main “deck” on the lake, but most folks still made their way outside before the rains opened up towards the end of the networking event.
“We actually had to close online registration when we hit 750 RSVP’s to keep things in check,” said Scott Hedrick of TechJournal South. “We always enjoy the opportunity to bring the Triangle’s technology leaders together in a casual setting, we hear lots of great stories of key contacts being made at these events.”
The event was capped off when Ryan Allis, CEO of iContact, jumped into the lake followed by several of his iContact colleagues.
The free sponsored supported event was presented by Meridian Corporate Center and ACP Mid-Atlantic LLP and sponsored by Cirrus Pharmaceuticals, Compuware, Dash Systems, eCast, Hosted Solutions, Hughes Pittman Gupton, Hutchison Law Group, Lucas Select, Preation, T1 Solutions, The Select Group and UDig,
The TechJournal RTP DeckParty is held twice each year and typically draws between 600 and 800 people at each event. An Atlanta DeckParty is also planned for the fall. For more information on the DeckParty series, visit www.deckparty.org.
