RESTON, VA–California-based Cogent Systems, which develops biometric identification technologies, has acquired the Security Solutions division of Reston-based Maximus for $5 million.

The division sells ID management services, security consulting and Web ap development.

Richard Montoni, CEO of Maximus said divesting the division is “consistent with our strategy of foucsing more exclusively on our core government health and human services offerings.”
