4DK Technologies takes in $1M of $3M round

March 24th, 2008

HERNDON, VA—4DK Technologies, Inc., a company selling what it calls a “superconnectivity platform” for wireless devices, has called down $1 million of a $3 million Series A Round, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The filing does not list investors, but the company said on its Web site that it was conducting a Series A round with a few “elite” investors.

4DK Technologies was initially funded by its founders, Tamara Casey and Nabil Taleb, and consulting revenue, its Web site says.

The company’s name comes from “geek speak” for four degrees Kelvin, a temperature measure often used in science. “It’s really cool,” explains the 4DK Web site. It also marks the temperature at which mercury was cooled to superconductivity, the site notes.

SuperConnectivity uses information latent in cell phones and networks and is intended to make everything work seamlessly with everything in a wireless environment, says the company. It provides real-time interoperability of services and applications through enhancements to the existing user interfaces, it explains.
