Philips acquires Balitmore’s VISICU for $427M

BALTIMORE, MD–Philips Holding USA, a unit of Roayl Philips Electroinics of the Netherlands, has acquired Baltimore-based VISICU for $427 million in cash.

Both companies develop hospital monitoring systems.

VISICU, which is no longer listed on the Nasdaq exchange, raised $96 million in its April 2006 IPO.

The hospital monitoring systems tracj patient data and audio and video feeds from a central location.
