MORRISVILLE, NC—Tekelec (NASDAQ:TKLC) has acquired substantially all of the assets of Estacado Systems, a software development company led by a team that has been instrumental in the creation of Session Initiation Protocol and a number of its advanced features.
Financial details were not disclosed.

Estacado Systems was established in 2004 by a team of SIP pioneers including Ajay Deo, Ben Campbell, Adam Roach and Robert Sparks.
