Founded in late 2005, DigitalBridge sells broadband wireless to small and medium-sized communities of up to 150,000 nationally. It launched the first commercial WiMax system in the United States in Rexburg, Ohio in June last year.
The company also works with communities and schools to make high speed sercies available to both residents and students and has a partnership with Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where it tested its WiMax self-install equipment.
At the time of its first funding, Kelley Dunne, CEO said, “WiMAX allows us to bring broadband services to many smaller communities that were previously too costly to serve with older technologies. We are now able to offer the educational and economic opportunities provided by true broadband connectivity to many people who have had limited options for high speed Internet service.”
