VersionOne closes $6.5M first round

ATLANTA—VersionOne Inc., which sells Web-based software development project planning and lifecycle management applications, has completed its $6.5 million funding from OpenView Partners. The company plans to expand its sales and marketing efforts with the investment.

Founded in 2002, VersionOne says it has been profitable since its second year of operations. More than 3,000 development teams, including 20 of the Fortune 100, user the company’s products to plan and manage their software development projects.

Robert Holler, VersionOne president and CEO said, “This investment was the right strategy at the right time for capitalizing on the fundamental shift in the way software is delivered in today’s rapidly changing business environment.”
