BALTIMORE, MD—InfraTrac, which detects pharmaceutical or industrial chemical counterfeiting with spectroscopy, has received an investment from the Maryland Technology Development Corp. (TEDCO) and Saffron Hill Ventures in an undisclosed amount.
The company tags products that include pills, liquids, vaccines and plastics so that an optical analysis instantly determines if they are genuine.
Its patent-pending technology is used to examine personal products such as perfume, drugs, different brands of gasoline or motor oil, auto parts, and luxury goods.
InfraTrac licenses the technology from the University of Maryland.
