MELBOURNE, FL—Aeronix Inc. today announced the spin-out of a new company, Zipit Wireless Inc.

Zipit Wireless was formerly part of Aeronix’s Consumer Media Systems group, which operated as Zipit for the purposes of marketing the Zipit Wireless Messenger.

As part of the spin-out, Zipit Wireless Inc. is now positioned to take advantage of the intellectual property, products and assets related to the company’s Zipit Wireless Messenger device, which was introduced in October 2004. Zipit Wireless Messenger is the only Wi-Fi instant messaging device which supports all major IM services.

Wireless Messenger has also received numerous national awards and praise by parents and analysts, including the iParenting Media Award in 2006 for its ease of use and safety.

Since creating the Zipit Wireless Messenger, Aeronix incubated the Wi-Fi- based instant messaging and portable Wi-Fi technology to perfect the current Zipit product. During the past several years, Aeronix funded all research and development of Zipit as a separate operation from its other company interests.

In addition, effective immediately, Frank Greer has left his position at Aeronix as vice president and general manager to serve as president and CEO of Zipit Wireless Inc.
