CHARLOTTE, NC—American City Business Journals says it is moving Sportingnews.com’s online operations to its Charlotte headquarters this summer. ACBJ plans to increase its investment in online properties and is consolidating those operations in Charlotte, the company says.
The Sportingnews.com move will bring about two dozen employees from St. Louis and New York offices to the Queen City, according to the Charlotte Business Journal, one of American City’s publications.
The move is planned for July.
Sportingnews.com focuses on fantasy sports games and paid content created by the online unit. It also carries blogs and other material from its print cousin, which operates separately from the online publication and remains in St. Louis.
Ray Shaw, chairman of ACBJ, says the move consolidates the company’s online operations in Charlotte and added the company will be stepping up its online investments and hiring additional technology people in Charlotte for things it has planned, the CBJ reports.
