ATLANTA, GA—Sciele Pharma Inc. (NASDAQ:SCRX) says it has reached an agreement to acquire Alpharetta, GA-based Alliant Pharmaceuticals Inc. for $122 million in cash.
The purchase price includes $12 million in debt to be paid at closing. It also includes potential payments of $55 million based on meeting certain profit targets and Alliant product development targets.
Alliant is expected to generate revenues of about $50 million to $60 million in 2007. Its product portfolio includes treatments for asthma, allergies, attention deficit disorder, head lice, scabies, and coughs and colds.
Schiele is a pharmaceutical company specializing in sales, marketing and development of branded prescription products focused on cardiovascular/diabetes and women’s health.
