GREENVILLE, SC–Twelve start-up companies from the Carolinas and Georgia will present their business plans at the fourth annual InnoVenture conference in Greenville Tuesday and Wednesday.
The conference, put on by South Carolina’s well-known investor, businessman and publisher of the Swamp Fox blog (www.swampfox.ws), John Warner, the conference theme is “Sparks will Fly.” On his blog, Warner says 639 people are expected to attend, including representatives of 250 organizations such as major regional universities, venture capitalist firms, companies, banks, and economic development officials.
The event includes three seminars by Jim Roberts, founder of the Blue Ridge Entrepreneurial Council and actively invovled in regional investment communities for years, on angel investing.

BoroScience, Columbia, SC, which supplies R&D labs with ammonia borane as a source of hydrogen for fuel cells.
CIVISonline Inc., Charleston, SC, which sells tools and technology developed by the BBC for social networking and citizen journalism.
CreatiVasc Medical, Greenville, SC, which is developing products to improve the quality of life for kidney dialysis patients.
Ivox Inc., Alphraetta, GA, which is a pioneer in predictive underwriting.
InstituTec, Charlotte, NC, which has developed measurement tools for micro and nanoscale markets.
LiveCargo Inc., Greensboro, NC, whilch provides a security platform that protects electronic files.
The Mariner Group, Columbia, SC, which makes software that helps companies manage complex situations.
PromoPipeline, Greenville, SC, which has a vertical search technology.
Sensory Analytics, Greensboro, NC, which is developing portable, automatic systems to measure
the thickness and color of coatings.
Selah Technologies, Greenville, SC, which is a nano-materials company.
Spinal Cord, Clemson, SC, which is developing nerve regeneration technologies.
