CHANTILLY, VA – Amit Yoran, the former CEO of In-Q-Tel, a private, not-for-profit company that helped the CIA engage commercial tech companies and acquire and deploy innovative technologies, has been named CEO of NetWitness Corporation, a Chantilly, VA-based provider of network content analysis and risk management services and products.
“We are very excited to bring a world class executive such as Amit into the company,” said Nick Lantuh, President of NetWitness Corporation. “Amit’s vast experience with security from start-ups to the Department of Homeland Security provides an excellent backdrop for understanding how the network security market will develop in the future.”
Prior to joining NetWitness, and in addition to his work with In-Q-Tel, Yoran served as the Director of the Department of Homeland Security’s National Cyber Security Division. The co-founder of Riptech, an information technology security provider, Yoran was also the company’s CEO until it was acquired by Symantec in 2002 for $145 million.
“I look forward to the prospects which lay ahead for NetWitness and for its applications within the Commercial Enterprise and Government security infrastructures,” said Yoran. “The NetWitness product development spans nearly a decade of work with U.S. Intelligence, Federal Law Enforcement and Department of Defense customers. The NetWitness team has solved difficult problems providing unique insight into “blind spots” within computer networks. Both the company and its products are well positioned for future success and continued expansion into the commercial market.”
NetWitness is a commercial software company that provides companies with tools designed to effectively determine the intent, magnitude, and scope of network threats and risks. Its customers include Fortune 500 companies, national intelligence agencies, federal and state law enforcement agencies, non-profit organizations, and the Department of Defense.
