TAMPA BAY, FL – On September 7th, the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute in Tampa Bay will be the host of a biotech conference open to life science companies, scientists, venture capitalists, bankers, attorneys, and anyone interested in learning more about the future of the biotech industry.
To host the event, Moffit is partnering with Enterprise Florida, Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, Pinellas Economic Development, Tampa Bay Partnership and the University of South Florida’s Research Foundation.
The conference, which is free to attend, will be held in the Vincent A. Stabile Research building. It includes a showcase of biotech companies and a behind-the-scenes tour of Moffitt’s research laboratories. Leading Tampa Bay entrepreneurs and scientists in the field of biotech will also
hold special sessions during the event.
Also, there will be a keynote speech by Steven Gillis, a venture partner at ARCH Venture Partners, which invests in the development of seed and early stage technology companies.
Moffitt, which first opened its doors to patients in 1986, is a non-profit institution solely dedicated to the prevention and cure of cancer. Part of that mission includes focusing on the development of early stage research aimed at the rapid translation of scientific discoveries that can benefit patients.
