RTP-based Unit Dose Solutions, a pharmacy services outsourcing company, has closed on its Series A Preferred Stock, raising $1.25 million in new equity capital from a group of individual investors. Leading the round and joining the company’s Board of Directors were angels Mike Fitzgerald and Jim Liebel.

Formed in 2005, the Company provides outsourced drug repackaging services in accord with current good manufacturing practices. Target markets for the company’s products include hospital, nursing home, assisted living and other institutional pharmacies, private physician practices, and pharmaceutical manufacturing companies in the U.S. Drug repackaging services involve the conversion of bulk drug inventory items into individual, sealed packages with the application of a bar code and human readable label on each dose of medication.
